iPod Accessories

by hokusai on Feb.15, 2009, under ipod

Hey there! It’s been a while since I posted, I apologize for that but i’ve been very busy. Through it all, I’ve still got my iPod and am rocking out to tunes with it all the time. That’s what I love about my iPod, you can take it anywhere, it’s totally portable and when I need to take long trips it makes for a great companion! I love watching movies on it too. I have had some ideas for the iPod that I think apple would benefit greatly from if they took my suggestions.. If they do take any of my ideas I post here, I better get some royalties! haha

My first idea is a magnifier for the small screen. It’s big enough to watch movies for sure, but let’s face it, it wouldn’t be good if the unit itself was any bigger right? so, my idea is this. Years ago, Nintendo had a device you could buy for the old original Gameboy. It was called the Gameboy magnifier.. well my idea is they should make a clip on magnifier similar to the one i mentioned specifically for the iPod. That way the device doesn’t need to be any bigger, but you can make the screen a few times bigger! Great for movies that have lots of detail that you don’t want to miss and also a bonus for those of us who’s eyes just aren’t what they used to be!

Let me know what you think of my idea! If anyone goes ahead and makes this device I expect some form of kickback! hehe (but seriously.. i need the money heh)

If you have any ideas, post them here! maybe we can appeal to apple (get it apPEEL to APPLE? haha ahem. :| ) and get them to create some of our ideas!

hope all’s well with you guys..

talk to you soon!

The iPod. Love it, or Heave it?

by hokusai on Mar.13, 2008, under ipod

Everyone loves the iPod. Why? Simply put. Simplicity. The iPod, although a wee bit on the expensive side of the retail market, is still the coolest personal media player out there. There have been many an ipod knockoff, but none can stand to the original. With looks, that winning slimline feel, there’s no question. The ipod is a winner in every category. The resale value alone on the ipod makes it worth indulging a little on this tenacious little technological toy. When you feel like upgrading you can still pull top dollar on ebay with the older models and move up to the latest and greatest for just a few bucks more, only to do it all over again!

I’ve tried the generic “mp4 player” and have seen similar ones, some of them look like they come close, but upon further inspection, you’ll see that the real ipod is really the only choice. It’s been my experience that the cheaper ones, although considerably more affordable or usually a lot of headache when it comes to the OS (Operating System) of the unit. I have found them to be buggy, crashing, freezing without warning or glitching out for no reason on certain mp4 formats, generated by different codecs etc. Not only functionality wise, but structurally. You’ve seen the can it be blended video? Well, of course it can but it looks like it put up a bit of fight there in th beginning. I have a friend who claims he threw his ipod through a sheet of drywall, while in a fit of rage on his iphone. Yes. He has anger issues, but he claims the ipod was still playing the same tune when he picked it up and dusted it off on the other side of the wall. Wow.

There you have it. i wonder how many of those people you see on the public transit system, rockin’ out with an ipod, have ipod survival stories. here’s an idea. ask one and post the results, or better yet, get one and test it yourself!

=)
